ardatdev I know I need to create docs ASAP but my first priority is creating this protocol, new HereUS update, and LAST App. Starting with what is what. The super protocol is TheProtocols. The social media based on TheProtocols is HereUS. LAST is a TheProtocols client super app.
How the news feed provided is up to how the server is configured. It can be configured to work with Google News API, RSS, AP, or HereUS API. If the admin wants, he/she can fix the feed to /Feed folder. Just like this, how every functionality work is up to the server. This is just a protocol to create interconnected web of servers to create a decentralized super app to replace current ones like WeChat, X, KakoTalk, LINE, etc. If you are not going to own a network, this is not something you need to care about. But if you want to create a network for better user-experience, I am willing to help you to create a server in C#.
As I said, the reason LAST collects all these information is I configured my network to collect. You can opt-out from collecting some of these. And since you are able to create a server software from scratch in any language, you can create a function to show fake information like every phone number on your server can be showed as +90(000)000-0000 and this will cause 0 problem if implementation is well-designed.
About open-source: The idea of TheProtocols is copyright protected but TheProtocols is free (as in beer) to use and implement. LAST is closed source as an usual software from HereUS Team but every Python module created while coding LAST will be open sourced. For my setup, the source code availability is this: client is closed, modules are open, protocol is open, and server is closed.
But as I said, this protocol aims to let everyone be able to create another client, module, or server. Also I am developing an open-source server software that acts nearly same as my network. But I have no time for a second client development and not going to open source LAST.
If you can integrate TheProtocols to Artado, people prefer open-source can use Artado instead of LAST if they are not in need of a specific client.
About HereUS, only thing closed source is the API Server. There is even open source client developed by a friend. I made it listed on "Verified Clients". As someone used Linux for 2 years, all these open source things have my respect but open sourcing everything is against my current goal. But I am open sourcing everything except the ends of connections. Servers and clients made to be managed by HereUS Team are closed source, but everything else if open source.
